Pros Pencils
You don't have to worry about the 'ink drying out'.
You don't have to worry about the angle at which you're holding your pencil.
Cons Pencils
You have to sharpen pencils.
If the tip of your pencil is sharp, you may poke yourself depending on the way you carry your pencil.

I personally I think everything has it's good and bads but that is why both exist.
Like with yin and yang you can make something great out of it's strengths rather than focus on only it's weaknesses.
